The results were very poor, about 8" at 40 yards. The same guns will shoot exellent groups with the 24" Buck Barrels, though. WebApr 8, 2024 · I think slugs can be fired from any constriction. You might want to see if a different brand is more accurate. I'm not an expert but I believe some are designed for rifled barrels and others for smooth bores. I don't believe that Browning ever offered a rifled barrel for the Auto-5. They did offer a slug barrel with rifle sights. WebJun 14, 2016 · The A5 standard load is 1 1/8oz 1200fps. Slug and Buck loads are usually longer, with high brass, and non-consistent hulls due to the loads. It makes sense to shoot hotter loads than 1200/1250fps. I see so many shooters focused on trying to get lighter slugs to run in their guns. WHY!
